1. Who can use BridgeQuest

BridgeQuest is available to anyone who is 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you may only use BridgeQuest with the verified consent of a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. What BridgeQuest is (and is not)

BridgeQuest is an educational simulation game and research platform. Its scenarios are designed to illustrate immigration-related situations and ethical trade-offs.

All game content — scenarios, personas, images, code, and text — is owned by the BridgeQuest research team at the University of Alberta. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Your gameplay data (decisions, dial scores, behavioral patterns) is licensed to the research team for use in improving BridgeQuest and conducting academic research, in accordance with the consent you provide. You retain ownership of your personal information and may request its deletion at any time.

5. Limitation of liability

BridgeQuest is provided for educational and research purposes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the University of Alberta and the BridgeQuest team are not liable for any loss or damage arising from:

You may delete your account at any time from your Privacy Dashboard.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. We will notify you by email before doing so, except in cases of serious misconduct or legal requirement.

7. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta, Canada. The language of proceedings will be English.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will update the version date above and notify you by email. If the changes are significant, we will ask you to re-confirm your agreement before your next game session.
